COVID-19 Policy & Procedure
Facemasks indoors
Facemasks are required in all indoor settings outside private homes. A reminder that if you are coming onsite, you will need to wear a facemask indoors at all times, unless you have an approved exemption.
Requirements for coming to classes
Anyone coming to a class must be:
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
• Well and not presenting cold- or flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever; chills; cough; sore throat; runny nose; loss of sense of smell or taste; shortness of breath)
• Not have been deemed a ‘household or household-like contact’ of someone who has tested positive to COVID-19.
Positive COVID-19 test result or 'close contact'
If you have a positive test result for COVID-19 (either on a rapid antigen test, or a PCR test), or are deemed a 'household or household-like contact' someone who has tested positive to COVID-19, do not come to class
If you have been to class in the 2 days preceding receiving a positive test result for COVID-19, you must advise us.
Ways to check in to class
Everyone to class must check in each day. Your check-in details are only used or shared for contact tracing purposes if there is a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case at a site you have visited.
Checking in
Scan a QR code
At entrances you’ll find posters displayed with the QR code.
Cleaning
Cleaning is conducted in accordance with the government’s COVID-19 cleaning guidelines, including:
• Increased frequency of cleaning in high traffic areas such as building entrances, hallways, stairwells, bathrooms and libraries
• Increased focus on cleaning frequently touched surfaces, including tables, benches, handles, switches, railings, taps, toilets, and sinks
• Use of hospital grade cleaner and sanitiser
• Cleaning staff are required to wear gloves and follow all necessary hand hygiene and OH&S protocols
Density limits
The Government has reintroduced a density quotient of one person per two square metres indoors across hospitality or entertainment venues.
While these do not apply to classrooms, office space or general areas, they do apply to publicly accessible hospitality venues such as restaurants, cafés or entertainment venues.
Students, staff and visitors are encouraged to continue physical distancing whenever possible.
Hygiene
Everyone – even when well – can help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Hygiene measures you need to follow are:
• Wash your hands often with soap and water
• Use hand sanitisers when you cannot use soap and water
• Sanitise your hands before entering the classroom
• Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
• Use cashless payment options
Signage is up to encourage good hygiene practices. Bathrooms are stocked with the requirements for good hand hygiene, and hand sanitiser is available in many building entrances and high-traffic areas.
